After unveiling the concept at the Geneva Motor Show in March and the production version in Paris, Opel has finally opened the order books for their hot Adam S, with prices starting from 18,690 euros ($23,422 USD) in Germany.
The Adam S is Opel’s answer to other sporty city cars such as the Fiat 500 Abarth. The Adam’s 1.4-liter engine receives a turbocharger in ‘S’ variants, boosting output to 150 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. There’s also retuned steering calibrated for performance driving, large OPC S brakes and retuned chassis dyanmics.
On the cosmetic side of things, the Adam S receives available 18-inch alloy wheels (17-inch units are standard) red brake calipers, a front lip spoiler, rocker moldings and a new rear bumper. Rounding out the sporty look is a rear hatch spoiler and chrome exhaust tip. One of the few optional extras, Recaro racing seats, are available for an additional 1,300 euros ($1,629 USD).
