General Motors Canada has been named as one of Canada’s top 100 employers by surveying firm Mediacorp Inc. Its inclusion on the list marks the fourth consecutive year the automaker has been ranked as one of the top places to work in Canada.
A number of important initiatives which greatly benefit GM Canada employees helped the automaker earn a spot on the list. Its exceptional planning services and tools, helpful tuition assistance program and access to professional association memberships all contributed to its inclusion. It was also recognized for its product and employee evaluation programs and employee health and wellness programs.
“All of GM Canada’s employees are working together to make GM the most valued automotive company by building great relationships both inside and outside GM and acting with integrity,” said GM Canada president and managing director, Kevin Williams. “Our employees are encouraged to be accountable for results and driven to win. Together we have all created a workplace where both what we achieve and how we achieve it matters.”
Each of the eligible employers for Canada’s Top 100 Employers list are graded on eight key areas: the physical workplace, work atmosphere, health and other benefits, vacation and time off, employee communications, performance management, training and skills development and community involvement.
