Cadillac’s 2016 ATS-V has been a long time in the making. After seeing the car testing at the Nurburgring on different occasions throughout the year, it will finally make its official debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month. Official details are still scarce, but this teaser video from Cadillac ensures us that the ATS-V will at least be able to do big, smoky burnouts.
The video may not reveal much we didn’t already know about the ATS-V, but it does provide further confirmation that both the sedan and coupe variants of the performance car will make their debut alongside each other. It was previously thought only the sedan would appear in LA, with the coupe making its first public appearance at a later date in Detroit. This video is specifically teasing the 2016 ATS-V Coupe, though, which leads us to believe it will also be in LA.
The ATS-V rumor mill has been consistently spinning all year, mostly with word about the car’s powertrain. We already knew the hottest ATS would employ some type of turbocharged V6 engine and this video provides further affirmation of that. What we don’t know for sure is the engine’s displacement or power output. This, and all the other juicy details, will become clear when Cadillac finally unveils the car next week.

Just like the M3/M4, we all know this car will be stupidly fast, and just like the M3M4, it seems like the exhaust note might be underwhelming. I suppose making a turbocharged 6 cylinder engine sound good is difficult, and maybe a compromise us enthusiast will have to live with. I think the bottom line will be what is important to the buyer, if one want a light, fast and nimble high performance car, the battle will be between the Ats-V and BMW, if neck snapping torque and horsepower is more important, then there is the C63 AMG, and if the sound and feel of a high revving naturally aspirated V8 is all that matters, there is the Lexus RC F. The power off choices, boy, it’s good to be a car enthusiast!!
super, cool and nice car. bmw is bmw- mb is mb- audi is audi and cadillac is cadillac. Cadillac does not like bmw. they all can be interconnected can compete and if at all possible, because the cars are also quite different.may not be directly comparable yields. I do not know the exact technical solutions and information channel.
