Chevrolet has unveiled the Tahoe Premium Outdoors concept at the 2014 SEMA trade show.
Based on its 2015 Tahoe LTZ 4WD model, the Premium Outdoors concept features a unique Black Ice paint job with body-color door handles and fascia. Cool Tinted accents abound throughout both the exterior and interior. The SUV rides on large, 22-inch wheels with body-color highlights, and wears a special concept grille to add to its presence.
Indoors, Petrol Blue piping plays off of the otherwise earthy-toned interior appointments. Just about everything touchable is wrapped in black or saddle-brown leather, with the exception of a suede headliner, and of course, the carpeting. On that note, the floor mats are of a luxurious loop-carpet sort, to treat your feet.
The 5.3 liter Ecotec3 V8 L83 is retained, but the 355 horsepower can be brought to a stop by special six-piston fixed Brembo calipers on the front with massive 16-inch slotted rotors.
Several pieces of equipment found on this concept are actually available for purchase from Chevrolet Accessories, including a Borla exhaust with chrome side-exit tip and illuminated door sill plates.
The Tahoe Premium Outdoors concept is nice. So nice, in fact, that it makes us wonder whether the term “outdoors” isn’t being misapplied here. There’s nothing in particular about this vehicle that quite yells “outdoorsy”, and its various luxury makes us want to stay in it rather than go, you know, outdoors.
Either way, it’s joined by its more longitudinally-endowed twin — the Suburban Premium Outdoors concept.
