Chevrolet conducted a real focus group to determine what the new 2015 Chevrolet Colorado can do for you. The hilarious video sheds a lot of light on why people buy thrucks.
For the focus group, Chevy posed three key questions:
- Can a truck make you more handsome?
- Can a truck make you more dependable?
- Can a truck make you more rugged?
They invited everyone to participate in the focus group. And we mean everyone: kids, mature people, young single women, rich housewives and, of course, guys with beards.
The focus group premise was simple. They showed the group two pictures. Both were the same guy with the same background. What was the difference? One showed a guy with a truck and another showed the guy with a car.
Then, the hilarity ensued.
In the end, 85 percent of people thought the truck guy was more handsome. And 76 percent thought he was more resourceful. Finally, the focus group thought he was 100 percent more likely to own an awesome pet.

Very stupid. I want my 2 minutes and 37 seconds back. The saddest part of all this is people really think that way. Here in Colorado the Chevy Colorado is considered a “girly” truck, to prove your manhood, you better be driving a 3/4 ton diesel truck. Interestingly, some of the shortest, fattest, and ugliest people I know drive those things. And they don’t have cool pets.
The worst part is the black girl at the end who says that the man with the car is the “kind your mama wants you to marry but the one with the truck is the one you leave him for and run off” In other words she is a whore! Lol what a joke Chevy has become.
That’s not a fair analogy of yours. Chevrolet is “not a joke”. And as an African American, I resent your remark.
The little truck that I owned was a 2006, Z71 with large engine. It served me very well. I now have ordered another one to replace the one I use to own. The new one will arrive in late spring. Chevrolet makes good products if the consumer takes care of them. I have owned the products for over 20 plus years, and none of them failed me! This name plate from GM will be the only type/brand I put in my stables! I keep American money in America! As long as it has an American plate on it’s hood…..You go buy what you want, or keep what you have. Good Luck!
Paula is clearly paid by Chevrolet to provide a politically-correct answer. Nice try Chevy. Pathetic.
And why are the women all dressed like prostitutes? Classy Chevy real classy NOT!
Wow, this advertising campaign is by the far the most pathetic and disgusting campaign ever conceived. It was likely conceived in the back of a Chevrolet pickup by one of those lumberjack assholes with the full beard who screwed one of the prostitutes in Chevy’s “focus group.” What the hell is this? 1978? Truly the most pathetic ad campaign in history. Clearly Chevrolet cannot promote their vehicles based on any kind of quality… like the Cadillac ad with the screaming opera shit and some guy pretending to be a designer who would never be allowed to drive one based on Chevrolet’s criteria for who drives their vehicles. Gay oriental guy? Not effing likely. Grow the eff up you dimwitted pieces of crap. i just bought a brand new 2015 Land Rover Evoque that wipes the effing walls with your pathetic pickup crap. I gladly paid double for one of these than spend anything on a Chev pickup… or any Chev for that matter. Simply cannot trust the quality of the airbags, ignitions, etc, etc, etc… that have plagued Chevrolet for DECADES. Not the past few years – DECADES. DECADES of allowing people to die behind the wheel of your crap. I drove in a friend’s rented Cadillac a month ago and was flabbergasted at the appalling lack of quality given it was a $40-50K vehicle. Get over yourselves and pull those crap ads immediately – they’re a completely embarrassment to all of mankind.
