The versatility, compact size and affordability of Chevrolet’s line of LS crate motors has made the engines extremely popular among aftermarket tuners, racers, hot-rodders and just about every other automotive sub-sect you can think of. Seriously, even the bat mobile uses LS-power.
GMPartsOnline.com knows there are many car enthusiasts looking for a fresh new crate motor to drop in their muscle car, race car or sports car out there, so they’ve made an LS engine guide to make things a little easier to read and understand. The chart, which can be seen and downloaded here, lists every LS engine currently on sale in order from least to most powerful.
The lineup starts with the LC9 5.3-liter V8, which GM says is “perfect for towing,” followed by its 5.3 Deluxe V8 and LS3 6.2-liter V8. The most powerful engines on offer are, of course, the LS9 from the Corvette ZR1 and the drag racing-oriented LSX454R.
The prices for each engine can be revealed by clicking on the thumbnail image. If the price is right, you can then easily order the engine directly to your door. Don’t you love the internet?

Uh, this appears to be created by GMPartsOnline which is a GM dealership’s online parts store. It’s not owned by GM. Nothing new here.

I thought it was cool, actually, *especially* because it came from a dealership. My local dealership doesn’t know the first thing about crate motors…
Hard to believe that LSX454R 7.4L is $20k! I mean, it’s an awesome engine, but come on.
