Myriad Of Appearance Packages Coming To 2015 Colorado

Last month, Chevrolet unveiled the 2015 Silverado Rally Edition appearance package, just as GMC unveiled two special edition Sierras with unique accessories — the 2015 Sierra Elevation and 2015 Sierra Carbon. These special-edition trucks offer buyers model-exclusive wheels and unique decals in addition to other cosmetic enhancements, helping to further separate their truck from the other Chevys and GMCs on the road. The appearance packages increase the appeal of the vehicle and are relatively easy for General Motors to produce. As a result, you can expect to see similar packages offered on other trucks within the GM stable.

Chevrolet Colorado Marketing Manager Tony Johnson confirmed to us yesterday that the 2015 Colorado mid-size pickup will eventually offer appearance packages similar to those of the Sierra Carbon and Elevation. He did not go into detail about what the packages will include, but said they could do away with some of the chrome trim seen on certain Colorado trim levels today.

In addition to deleting some/all of the chrome, the appearance packages could include a body-colored grille, door handles and mirrors. Plus, some of the black cladding seen on the lower front and rear bumpers of the 2015 Colorado (or will it be the 2016 Colorado?) could be exchanged for body-colored pieces. And as on the Sierra Carbon, model-exclusive wheels may be in the cards, as well.

Until we find out more, we’ll just have to wait and see what kinds of special edition tricks The Bowtie has in store for its midsizers. Stay glued to GM Authority for more Colorado news and GM news.

  1. Special seats should be easy to include in these packages if the seats come in sequenced from a supplier…..

  2. Why bring out new appearance packages when you can not even get the Rally Yellow color after over two month wait?

  3. I waited for months to buy the Laser Blue Colorado. I am glad I waited and didn’t just order it. The blue is almost purple. It’s a real shame. Chevy has many true blue paint jobs on other vehicles such as the Silverado, but they really blew it with the Colorado. It is not blue.

  4. What the Colorado real need is a lowering package you can order with a 2″ front and 4″ rear or better…. It would make the whole truck sporty….. I love my 2015 and I’m getting around 30 MPG with the 6 cyl.
