Update: an earlier version of this story didn’t contain Laser Blue or Rally Yellow since they were not part of the configurator. We’ve added the two colors to the gallery, but the poll will not reflect the two colors.
Having recently driven the 2015 Chevy Colorado, we’ve been configuring the new, competition-annihilating mid-size truck to our heart’s content. And in doing so, we’ve been pondering our favorite color of the new truck.
Interestingly, a blue hue — which is the readers’ color of choice on the 2015 Corvette Z06 — isn’t in the cards when it comes to the 2015 Colorado, which is available in the following eight ten exterior colors:
- Black
- Brownstone Metallic
- Cyber Gray Metallic
- Rainforest Green Metallic ($495 option)
- Red Hot
- Red Rock Metallic
- Silver Ice Metallic
- Summit White
- Rally Yellow
- Laser Blue
Vote for your favorite 2015 Colorado color in the poll below, and tell us which shades you’d like to see added to the palette in the comments section.

you had a napa blue in 2008 on the colorado which I have and still like . that color would sell me the a new colorado.
It would be nice to see them put a blue into the mix. I’m alright with it being one of the more bright and bold ones as well.
What happened to the Rally Yellow I used in the online configuration a few weeks ago? Or was it just a filler color on the “Learn More” page at Chevrolet?
What no Iridium Metallic Black? This is a killer color on the full size trucks.
What about pearl white. Something like that. Why not have it on the higher priced CO and Canyon models.
Rally Yellow and Laser Blue are both now available to order. I’d really like to see Deep Ruby on the new Colorado. Red Rock is just a little too orange for me. Ruby would be my personal pick. Also, GM PLEASE GIVE THE COLORADO THE AUTOTRAC SYSTEM. Rant done, thanks.
Before the configurator was up on the Chevy website, they had the Colorado with a blue color. As soon as configurator went up and truck started hitting lots, Neither Chevy or GMC offer a blue color. The green isn’t too bad, but the kicker is if you want the green, it will cost extra. What is it about certain metallic colors that all manufacturers think they need to charge extra for it. However, not having blue is a dumb move. I can see why they may not offer blue on a sedan or compact, but there is just something about blue on a truck and the Colorado is definitely missing it. Hopefully in 2016.
How is it ok to not offer blue on a sedan? Do those buyers want blue any less than truck buyers?
Sorry, should have elaborated more. They saw fit not to offer a multitude of colors for the SS which I also thought was a mistake. However, since it has been so low volume I can sort of understand why they didn’t offer a wide color wheel.
Oh I see now. That makes sense on the SS, as it’s so limited in sales volume… besides lowering the price (which won’t happen), perhaps having more colors would broaden the market a bit. But even then, I think that the more colors available on any vehicles, the better.
Wholeheartedly agree, the more colors for the customers to choose from the better.
I’m so tired of GM not offering Blue paint options. What happened to Laser Blue that was shown earlier for the Colorado.
Well, it looks like Blue (and Yellow) are part of the roll-out. Post updated to reflect this.
Unfortunately, blue is still not available. I ordered a Z71 in Laser Blue on October 24. Told yesterday by the dealer that it is a website error and the blue will not be available to even ORDER until late January. The dealer’s site even still shows it available with no restrictions. GM needs to get it together.
When the Colorado first came up on Chevy’s website, blue and yellow were offered. AWESOME. Then they were pulled. NOT awesome. Now blue is back, but you can’t choose it when you are building a truck through the website. ???
If you design a cool “best in class” truck, you need to offer some cool colors too -not just one sorta-cool color (metallic green) that, of course, we have to pay $500 extra for. Please, please, fix this girl’s broken heart and put yellow and blue back in the mix. Thank you!
Who cares about the color? When’s the diesel coming out????

burnt orange metallic on the earlier Colorado was a favorite of mine!
Bring back Rally Yellow PLEASE!
