Most of our daily commutes don’t involve much besides the occasional pothole to casually swerve around. Not many would need a rally ready off-road sports coupe that is street legal and completely road worthy. Someone felt otherwise, and put one up for sale on eBay.
The auction has since ended, but whoever picked the vehicle up has one very capable vehicle on their hands. The rally racer is hodgepodge of kit car, and LS power. The Local Motors Rally Fighter is a kit car constructed of a tube space-frame chassis, thermoplastic body, and Fox Racing off-road suspension. After the build was completed, the vehicle was shipped off to Florida to be registered with a special kit car VIN to make it completely street legal.
At the heart of the kit car is a familiar 6.2-liter LS3 V8 producing 430 hp and 424 lb-ft of torque. A GM 4L85 4-speed automatic does the shifting and power is sent to the rear wheels. The Rally Fighter is finished in a vinyl wrap, and besides looking really cool, saves 12 pounds compared to paint. At the time of the sale, only 2,158 miles were on the odometer, which the seller claims were mostly from commuting to car shows and auto events.
After driving something like this, you may want to add some mud and steep climbs to your daily commute into work and skip the traffic altogether.

I cannot believe this Rally Fighter (http://bit.ly/testarallyfighter) is vinyl wrapped. I wonder how the ombre effect is achieved using the vinyl wrapping. It’s really cool looking! Also, great that it helps with efficiency. I never would have guessed it saves 12 pounds.
