Earlier this week, Hennessey Performance Engineering showed off their 2014 HPE750 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, which will soon be shipped out to its owner in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. HPE has built hundreds of tuned ZL1s, but this particular car is one of the first to be ordered through an AutoNation dealership.
In September, AutoNation announced it would partner up with HPE to offer tuning packages for Chevrolets to its customers. This allows anyone to walk into an AutoNation Chevy dealer off the street and place an order for an HPE750 ZL1 or an HPE600 Corvette Stingray, for example. For now, only tuning packages for Chevy vehicles are available to order, but Ford AutoNation dealers will soon get in on the program, too.
HPE owner and CEO John Hennessey recently took the black-on-black HPE ZL1 out for a quick spin around the company’s testing grounds at Lonestar Motorsports Park. He used the opportunity to describe how their upgraded ZL1 drives and how the owner of the car went about ordering his performance package.
