Chevy-Powered Twin Turbo Mustang “Helleanor” Lights Up The Dragstrip: Video

Here for your viewing pleasure is a mean-as-hell 1967 Mustang Fastback dragster making about 2,000 HP, thanks to twin 82 mm turbochargers, and a 388 cubic-inch Chevy motor.

Dubbed “Helleanor,” this Mustang fastback is probably one of the sharpest, most stylish dragster builds we have ever seen. The shark fin-like cutting vertical aerodynamic stabilizer on the nose and the expansive, swept-back rear wing make this car look like the offspring of a 60s muscle car and a rocket ship. Drenched in a deliciously dark graphite paint, this dragster is likely one of very few that could be deemed “pretty” by universal standards.

Oh, and then there’s the ludicrous performance; in the video below, the car puts on its best show of about 4.8 seconds through the eighth-mile, at over 150 mph. That’s with the car’s twin turbos set up to provide about 35 psi of boost, and suggests that it’s probably hitting 60 mph in under 2 seconds.

Of course, that’s par for the course for such a high-caliber, dedicated drag car such as this 1967 Mustang fastback. Still, we can’t help but be enamored with it.
