Cadillac ELR Ranks Among Car and Driver’s ’10 Most Beautiful Cars on Sale Today’

Style is subjective, which is why it can be somewhat controversial to try and count down the most beautiful cars on sale today. Car and Driver recently did just that, and while we could find a few other cars to take the place of some of their choices, we agree with one entry on their list wholeheartedly.
We’ve long believed the Cadillac ELR is one of the better-looking products in GM’s portfolio. Its sharp wedge shape, angular lines and archetypal Cadillac design elements make it one of the best-looking EVs on the market today. The ELR is also one of the best representations of Cadillac’s Art and Science design philosophy. Features like its active shutter grille and lower front air dam help to reduce drag and maximize efficiency, while the sharp, complex bodylines make the car easy on the eyes.
The ELR comes in at No. 7 on C&D’s most beautiful cars list, beat out by newer entries like the Lamborghini Huracan and Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe. Despite it’s $75,000 price tag, the ELR is also the least expensive car on the list, which makes it the cheapest of the best-looking cars on sale today.

Price nit-picking aside, I’ve yet to find anyone to disagree with me about the ELR’s stellar appearance.
I would also add the CTS-V coupe to the list. That car is HOT and a head turner!
Everything is right about the ELR. Styling is best in class. The fuel efficiency – unlimited range combination is ideal for what I need, allowing me to drive all-electric for all my commuting, while still be able to go to Yosemite without a second thought. Torque is ample, even though I always would wish for more. And now with big discounts, even the price is near unbeatable.
I would have bought one, if it wasn t for its front wheel drive. Maybe the next model can be rear-drive like a Tesla.
So I stick with my 2014 Cadillac CTS V6 🙂
