Yeah, yeah, we get you, Corvette folks − you’re not happy that Chevrolet will be producing a Z06 convertible. But might we remind you that many of the world’s greatest sports cars started out as roadsters? So while you continue to pout, some rich guy or gal will be in Scottsdale at Barrett-Jackson’s big auction and snap up the very first production 2015 Corvette Z06 convertible.
This wouldn’t be the first time General Motors and Barrett-Jackson got together to promote VIN 001 of new Corvettes − back in 2011, B-J auctioned the first Corvette Z06 carbon edition, then in 2012 they auctioned the first 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427 convertible. Almost two years ago, the first production 2014 Corvette Stingray coupe was sold for more than a million bucks, which was followed up a few months later by a 2014 Corvette Stingray convertible that again sold for a similar price. This past April the first production 2015 Z06 coupe sold − guess? − for a cool million.
One person has bought most of the cars mentioned above, so we reckon you’ll need more than $1 million to win this 2015 Corvette Z06 convertible. If you think you’ve got what it takes, be sure to be at Scottsdale on January 10-18, 2015.
