It’s not often you stumble upon a 50-year-old car that is entirely original. When you do, it becomes an instant time capsule, taking you back to what was cutting edge at that point in time. This is the case for this all original 1964 Pontiac GTO, and it’s crossing an auction block near you.
The car is set to be sold during Mecum’s Anaheim Auction, starting November 13th, and has every piece of documentation to make the most die-hard collector want a piece of its authenticity. Powering the car is 389 cubic-inch Pontiac Tri-Power engine, and the lucky owner will be able to row their own gears courtesy of floor shift four-speed manual transmission. Someone optioned this Goat out the right way in our books.
The ’64 GTO has the correct factory code to confirm its authenticity, and is outfitted with all correct options to back it up. Further options include a dual exhaust, BSW 750/14 redline tires, original exterior badging, bucket seats and a 3.90 rear end. The exterior glistens under its 50-year-old factory paint job, a glossy silver, and the interior is finished in black.
We’ll save you the trouble and tell you now, and tell you its lot number for this vintage Pontiac is F205. So be sure to watch for this nostalgic piece of motoring history the second week of November
