We Wish This Lego 1969 C3 Corvette Was Around When We Were Kids

Lego’s Ideas website lets the countless Lego fans around the world submit their homemade creations with photos and information for a shot at having it appear as a real pre-packaged Lego set. Some of the builds on the site are extremely impressive, but none appeal to us quite like this 1969 C3 Corvette found by Jalopnik.

The curvaceous and flowing lines of the C3 Corvette are probably extremely hard to replicate with Lego bricks, but the builder still managed to get them spot-on. Under the hood sits a carbureted V8 engine, while the interior is fully-equipped with a gear selector, two seats, a steering wheel and gauges. There’s even four round taillights out back and huge side-exit exhaust pipes.

The sheer variety of bricks involved in this project is staggering, but even more impressive is how they all come together. We can’t even begin to imagine how difficult it must have been to get Lego to fit together so nicely all while getting the proportions of the classic sports car just right. If you like Lego and Corvettes and want a shot at building this model for yourself, you can vote it up so the bosses at Lego see it. Who knows? It may be on its way to a shelf at your local Toys R Us sooner than you think.
