Shanghai OnStar Launches Trip Wizard Online Map Service

Shanghai OnStar has launched the Trip Wizard website map service as well as an upgraded OnStar mobile app, giving General Motors drivers in China the ultimate in advanced and efficient travel solution in the telematics sector.

The Trip Wizard website map service offers users “tailor-made” destination searches, route planning, and road condition reports in real-time. Users can also plan a trip on Trip Wizard and send the results to their vehicle, with OnStar supporting navigation by voice controls.

The upgraded OnStar mobile app can provide an all-new user experience, giving a direct and convenient interactive platform for communication with three new features: communication optimization, dealer liaison optimization, and payment system optimization:

  • Communication optimization: OnStar users can automatically receive service upgrade reminders, obtain information about dealer sales promotions, and learn about new OnStar customer care services.
  • Dealer liaison optimization: Allows users to search for information about nearby dealers, including addresses, telephone numbers, and distance. Users can then send the information to their vehicles, share it with other users, and map out the most convenient route. Of course, OnStar can also guide them to their destination.
  • Payment system optimization: Supports online payment via China’s two most popular payment platforms: PayPal and WeChat. It also has a prepaid card activation function.

Shanghai OnStar has also started a cooperation with AutoNavi where users can search for addresses using the AutoNavi map mobile app, which can then send the addresses to the OnStar mobile app and users’ vehicles for easy travel.
