Shanghai GM Recalls 38,328 XTS Sedans In China

General Motors’ Chinese joint venture, Shanghai GM, has announced a recall in China for brake control software problems, according to Reuters.

The problem: The problems stems from the brake control software, which in extreme cases may prevent the car from accelerating properly.

Vehicles affected: Only certain Cadillac XTS sedans built between October 2012 and July 2014 are wrapped up in the recall.

Number of vehicles being recalled: In total, 38,328 XTS’ have been affected by this recall.

The fix: Shanghai GM has yet to specify an exact fix for the problem, however owners should receive a letter or email notifying them their vehicle is affected and to bring it in to a local dealer.
