At last year’s SEMA show, billet car parts manufacturer Ringbrothers debuted their custom Nike-sponsored 1971 DeTomaso Pantera with an LS3 V8 under its hood, garnering them significant attention from media and show goers. In 2014 they’re looking to one-up their previous effort by bringing a 1000 horsepower 1966 Chevelle along with them to the show, this time sponsored by Royal Purple.
The car is described as being a “refined race car,” that will feature “extensive fabrication of interior and exterior panels including Ringbrothers’ signature use of aluminum and carbon fiber,” Royal Purple said. It will also be powered by a near-1000 horsepower 7.0-liter LS7 V8 from Wegner Motorsports.
Ringbrothers and Royal Purple are both remaining tight-lipped about their new project, but they say more information will be available in coming weeks. The SEMA show will roll around on November 4, too, so this car’s unveil isn’t too far out.
