New Sixth-Generation 2016 Camaro Rendering Continues To Entertain The Thought

With a new, sixth-generation 2016 Chevrolet Camaro on tap to be released very soon, the speculation of its new look is going. Many new, wild interpretations are hitting the internet like this “Batman-like” Camaro. Just how far will Chevy push the design limits? Probably not this far, but it sure would be fun.

The rendering spotted by our friends at CamaroNews.com seems to combine second-generation with recent spy photos. With a really unique grille, the 2016 Camaro may be addressing criticism over visibility concerns with a much more sloped hood as well and larger windshield.

Ultimately, these renditions are fun to look at and fawn over. We definitely don’t expect the 2016 Camaro to resemble this when it’s unveiled presumably sometime next year.

  1. That’s very awful.

  2. Yeah if people would stop praising ManaroSS from Gminsidenews.com that would be great.

    1. To be fair to him, sometimes he gets it right. Other times, like the CT7 and CT9 concepts, he gets them disastrously wrong.

      1. And that’s where ppl from GMI be talking smack about GMA

        1. If that’s how everyone wishes to be, then fine. GMA and GMI, while separate GM-centric online communities, shouldn’t look at each other as warring tribes.

I haven’t logged into GMI in years, and I left because everyone at time thought that hooning about in RWD V8’s cars were more important to mainstream auto consumers than things like NVH controls, superior building practices, material/engineering quality, or fuel efficiency.

Time has passed and I’m still lurking GMI. The majority there are no longer stuck in the same mindset, but they are a slim majority of posters. Maybe I need to give them more time for the spirit of GMI to see what it is that consumers want rather than what it is GMI’s poster want. I would like to return, but I’m not so sure I need more headaches trying to argue for those who aren’t owing a car just so they can slide the rear end out when they are driving on an on-ramp.

As for MonaroSS, he has every right in the world to dream and conceive of cars that GM could make, and share his vision it with the world. Like every artist, he’ll never be able to satisfy everyone, and there will always be critics, both constructive and non-constructive. I wouldn’t pin my distancing from GMI on him as it would be unfair; I just don’t like any of the CT# concepts he’s produced in the last few weeks.

  3. ha I don’t know who rendered this, but this is a mess. At least the rendering should be designed based on camaro concept car. This looks like a Holden Commodore.

    1. The fact that it might be based on something like the Holden is why I might buy one.

  4. That is FUGLY!

  5. I have no idea what everyone is talking about, if the 6th gen looked like this, I would actually by one, but I know its just going to be YET ANOTHER poor man’s 69 Camaro SS.

  6. For a sixth generation Camaro the front end end grille hood an windshield are just plane non Camaro. Wouldn’t buy it if it made into production.

  7. Looks like a cadillac crossed with a camaro. Don’t like the grill, but the hood and body lines are pretty sweet.

    1. “but the hood and body lines are pretty sweet.”

The hood is copy-pasted from a 4th gen SS. The body lines (at least from the mirrors back) are copy-pasted from a 5th gen. I feel bad for whoever pays this person to speculate about future cars because their employee isn’t good at it. At all.

  8. Well you can stop all the panic here as it is not going to look like this.

They did get the lower roof and the lower fender line right but that is clearly about it. Let’s just let GM show us more and at lest get the Camo off before we pass much judgment or panic.

Lets face it this is what we will see. Half of you will hate the car and half of you will love it at first sight. In a few months when it hits the dealers 90% of all of you will start arguing how much better I is than the Mustang. You know it is true and we have seen this act play out time and time again most recently with the C7.

I would like to thank Tim for the heading that is not misleading and the use of the word entertain is very well used.

So before anyone here buys a Mustang of fills out an order form for this car best to let GM really show what they have and see it in the sheet metal at the dealer before you write it off.

Note this is not the last of the entertaining drawings as they like to bait the hook if they know there a some fish around. Don’t be a fish.

  9. This whole story is a joke. I checked out the links and somebody stole someone else’s rendering not even giving credit to where they got it is what this all looks like to me. Most of these chops or renderings usually look a little off aesthetically, it’s the idea they’re pushing is all.

  10. No more holdens please. ..I hate them

    1. John if not for Holden there would be no RWD at GM outside the trucks and Corvette. They did their job to prove there was a market and now we have Alpha and Omega.

  13. I like GMI and GMA. Both provide great insight and opinions, even if you don’t always agree. MonaroSS usualky has some great designs and does it for free…so don’t complain.

I don’t like the latest Camaro rendering though…horrible. But I don’t need to get all crazy emotional about one man’s attempt, especially when he has also done great things.

  14. That grill does not belong on that CSR at all.

Grawdaddy, I agree with you that many on GMI are overly focused on what the small number of enthusiasts want instead of what will sell in large numbers and make money for GM. But, I still visit both that site and this one regularly. As you say, the two sites don’t have to be at war.
The initial CT# renderings by MonaroSS were really homely, yes. But did you see that he later took criticism and used it to improve his designs? A couple were much better, though others were still bad. He does do a lot of good work, though. At the least, we can appreciate his efforts.

    1. I did see the revisions, but I still saw fins, rear fender flares, sideskirts, and rims emulating whitewalls; things that have no place in 2015 or on any Cadillac that is suppose to be GM’s greatest offering.

Retro is dead, such cars have no place in the full-size luxury segment. The segment prides themselves on being leading, bleeding edge of technology; cars that dictate what the rest of the world will expect in 10 to 15 years time. In no way is a retro post-war Cadillac going to inspire confidence or convince the world that a hypothetical CT7/9 is superior to an S-class when all it can do is harp on about the good old days instead of the future.

    2. actually he never takes criticisms well and after one of his “rants” he almost got banned as a result. Chop quality is poor and his attitude is pompous and arrogant when his ideas are challenged.

  15. lose the horizontal bar in grill, get rid of LED stacks in valance, make headlight resemble 70 front lights. the wheels are wrong, make it wide steel wheels with a modern poverty cap. its not that bad!

  16. This is how we fix this one. We treat it as the fake photo shop of a car no one is making and then we will not be so upset or trying to fix something that is not to be anyways.

This is a joke and just have a laugh and let this one go. Save the critic for the real thing that will be here sooner than you think.

We should see something at Detroit this year bases on the Mules I have seen.

  17. Love this design , get rid of the bar across the grill and I love it more . Just insert the bow tie neatly into the grill , understated , to be sure . This will be a great Mustang fighter , I’m just not sure the engines will competitively match the Mustang . Enhancing visibility is the cornerstone in making the vehicle more desirable for women , who make over 50% of the buying decisions for new vehicles and shorter people plus those who use the car mainly for in-city driving and parking .

  18. That image reminds me of the 1970 Camaros, but I still like the present design because it is a falshback to the original 1967 style of Camaro which I drove (Rally Sport with 327 CI V8).
