In what can only be considered an act of aggression against Southern California Camaro enthusiasts, one dealer has a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 listed at $106,165, or approx. $30,000 over MSRP.
The dealer in question is one Felix Chevrolet , and, don’t get us wrong; the Camaro Z/28 is one heck of a car. If a leader-board lap time was the meter by which all cars are gauged, even at over $100,000, the Z/28 might still be the bargain of the century. As well as a collector’s item.
The issue is that, with plenty of dealers in the surrounding area and beyond willing to sell at or below sticker price, Felix Chevrolet is clearly counting on a member of the woefully under-informed — or somebody really interested in burning money — on helping them move the car.
While some markup can be expected in such a densely populated, urban area — especially one with such a relatively high per-capita wealth — Penske Chevrolet already has a 2015 example listed at $76,105. That’s only 21 miles Southeast, and if you’re in the market for a Camaro Z/28 in the LA area, probably the most insanely economic few miles you’ll ever drive in your life.
Update: the price of this 2014 Camaro Z/28 has been corrected and brought down to a more sane level.

Two things…
1st) Where did they get the figure $106,165.00 very strange figure.
2nd) They are destroying the brand. I am a Camaro owner. My car turns heads every time I enter a parking lot. Why? Because, beyond the fact it a GREAT looking MUSCLE CAR it affordable. If dealerships GREED take hold they will destroy the brand.
A few years back I put my name on a list for a Shelby GT 500. When I got the call, I returned to the dealership only to find out they had marked it up nearly $30,000.00. Guess what, I drive a CAMARO today as a result of dealership GREED. Value is value and both Ford and Chevy have evaluated the VALUE of their respective products. It’s NOT the dealers place to destroy it and the customer base in the process. Just food for thought.
My Camaro is being modified as we speak and trust me NO Z28 will run with it and it didn’t cost anything close to $106.000 and change. Fact is you can just about do two for one for that price and get one for the wife as well.
Happy wife…happy life especially if she has her own 700 hp Camaro.
Look at the Felix dealership reviews on Yelp.

Wow.
Yikes!
After reading the Yelp reviews, it comes as no surprise that Felix Chevrolet would try to charge a $30,000 premium for a Z/28 Camaro.
GM should pull their franchise.
Also agree with the comments on the GT-500. What happens when the owner with $30,000 fluff “market adjustment” comes in for a trade after 2-3 years?
Now tell me again why the dealership business model is better than the store business model.
Dealers are just middle men that are needlessly standing between you and the car you want.
Now who Is really at fault here the offering dealer or the idiot that is willing to pay? Stop paying these prices and the dealers will stop doing this.
We see this every time they into a new model and people will pay through the nose to have the first one in the neighborhood.
No one is holding a gun on anyone to buy this so who ever pays is the one who encourages this behavior.
As a person in the Auto industry, I can assure you that the mark up on this car is a bit too much. As other comments state the dealers will stop if no one buys it. Most Dealers are fair enough not to have mark ups, which is what an MSRP is for. Come see us in Torrance, we will gladly an honestly help on a purchase of any new and pre-owned Chevrolet, at a Fair Price.
