Illinois Chevrolet Dealer Selling Off 2015 Corvette Z06 Order Form

Remember when demand for the 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray was so high that some dealers had marked the car up to nearly $100,000 and Chevrolet was telling prospective customers they would have to wait a year before they’d get their car? The buzz surrounding the upcoming 2015 Corvette Z06 will probably be just as high, which may be what gave one Illinois Chevrolet dealer the idea to sell off the first example of the car they will get before it’s even arrived.

According to the listing, customers will be bidding on an actual 2015 Corvette Z06. The car hasn’t arrived yet, so really the only thing they are buying is the order form. The seller says the initial run of Z06’s will be coupe models with the 7-speed manual transmission, while convertible and automatic examples of the car will arrive a couple months down the road. Buyers will pay the base price of the car for the order form ($78,995) and then choose their options after the fact, at which point the entire cost of the car will be determined based on the options chosen. The dealer has put a $10,000 premium on the order form though, so really they are paying an $88,995 base price for the car.

If you’re eager to get your hands on one of the first Z06s to arrive on dealer lots, this listing is right up your alley. We don’t suggest paying $10,000 over the base price just to lock one in early though. Just like the standard C7, the demand will eventually die out and you’ll easily be able to get your hands on one for a more reasonable price. But we’ve been waiting all year for the Z06s to arrive, so we’d also understand your impatience. Check out the listing here and let us know in the comments if you think the $10,000 premium is worth it.

  1. This sales tactic may very well work on the uninformed, which there’s probably allot of them out there. However, for those that wish to pull their heads out of the sand, there are many dealerships in the country that will be more than happy to sell them the new Z06 for MSRP + Options.
