General Motors Recalling 3,200 Natural Gas Chevrolet Express And GMC Savana Vans

General Motors has announced a recall for certain Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans equipped with a natural gas system.

The problem: The high-pressure regulator for the compressed natural gas system in the vans may leak, increasing the chance of a fire, according to General Motors.

Vehicles affected: 2011 to 2014 model year Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans equipped with a natural gas fuel system are affected.

Number of vehicles affected: About 3,196 vans in the United States and an additional 13 in Canada are affected.

The fix: GM dealers will inspect and fix the vans free of charge, however parts are not yet available at dealer service departments. GM will notify owners when parts become available.

Contacts: Owners with more questions may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC at 1-800-462-8782. They may also use this site to use their VIN to search for GM recalls.
