Just in time for The University of Texas Longhorns football season, Chevrolet has announced a special-edition University of Texas Longhorns edition Silverado. Best of all, this package will be available in the Lone Star State plus the other 49 starting in October.
Last year, Chevrolet, The University of Texas Athletics program, IMG College, and the Texas Exes UT student alumni association announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement that has designated Silverado as the Official Truck of the Texas Longhorns and of the Texas Exes. Silverado is also the Official Truck of Bevo, the Texas Longhorns’ mascot. Featuring Sunset Orange Metallic exterior paint, special UT graphics, and chrome side steps, the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado UT Special Edition is available as a Double Cab in LT or LTZ trim, or a Crew Cab in LTZ trim. The package also has the following features:
- 2WD or 4WD Double Cab LT or LTZ Trim with Texas Edition package configurations
- LT – 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, body color mirror and door handles and Texas Edition badge
- LTZ – 20-inch chrome wheels, chrome mirrors and door handles and Texas Edition badge
- Spray-in bed liner
“There is no more appropriate place to showcase the stronger, smarter, more capable Chevrolet Silverado than in the heart of truck country,” says Chevrolet director of Truck Marketing, Sandor Piszar. “The special-edition Silverado is a natural fit for Chevrolet in Texas, where a Longhorn fan lives in one out of every three households, and those fans are almost twice as likely as average consumers to buy a truck.”
“This is an exciting way for Longhorns everywhere to show their Texas pride as they cruise America’s highways and byways, and I’m glad to see that Bevo XIV will continue to ride in style,” says the director of Men’s Athletics at UT, Steve Patterson. “We appreciate our great partnership with Chevrolet and their support of Texas Athletics.”
The UT edition package will have a suggested retail price of $795.
Comments
Texas is currently the best-oerforming state economically and employment-wise, so why not. At least people have jobs abs money there to buy special edition trucks.
Now, speaking of California or New York state…
Do you have a source to back up your assertion?
Bring that paint out as an orderable option!
I don’t understand WHY they just don’t bring this colour out all the time
Can this be ordered on a 2500HD Diesel Silverado?
They should really bring back Fusion Orange Metallic!
