In June we shared with you the updates which Chevrolet was making to its compact Gamma II-based Prisma sedan for the 2015 model year. Now, Chevrolet has launched the updated version of the Prisma in Brazil starting at 41,900 Brazil reais, or $17,633 USD.
The Prisma was brought to Brazil and other Latin American markets in 2013 and has since turned into one of the bowtie brand’s best-selling and most important models in the region. It has received several important updates for 2015 including standard air conditioning, automatic electric windows, a jet black painted dashboard, 14-inch steel rims, a chrome grille and rear parking sensors. The only optional extra is Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment system complete with a 7-inch color touchscreen and Bluetooth.
Apart from the cosmetic enhancements and added technology, the Prisma remains virtually the same for 2015. That means you get the same entry-level FlexFuel 1.0-liter engine, which makes 78 horsepower and 70 lb-ft of torque. A 1.4-liter engine with 106 horsepower and 102 lb-ft is also available, along with a choice of either a six-speed automatic transmission or a five-speed manual.
