Baseball And Car Culture Collide In Reggie Jackson’s Former ’63 Corvette: eBay Find

If someone asked you to name the most American car and the most American sport, what would your answers be? No one would fault your for saying Baseball and the Chevrolet Corvette. Both are icons of classic American culture and with this stunning 1963 split window Corvette for sale on eBay, the two collide making for a winning combination of patriotism.

What does this C2 ‘Vette have to do with baseball? Well, the vehicle was once owned by Mr. October himself and is still in his name, with “Reggie Jackson” clearly written on the California title. Jackson signed the title in 1984 and sometime after the car was put into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. When it left the museum, the current owner bought it and has owned it ever since.

The ’63 split window is equipped with the Muncie M20 four-speed manual transmission and 327 cu L75 Small Block V8 engine. It appears to be in sound condition, however the listing states the car is “in need of paint,” with the roof being highly oxidized. The rear carpet is also extremely faded, likely from the hot California sun beating down on the car through the large rear window.

Interested in owning Jackson’s former boulevard cruiser? The price currently sits at $110,600.00 after 19 bids at the time of this writing. The seller says he’ll take a “no rust 1962 Corvette in trade plus cash,” if you happen to have one of those handy and are just dying to get this piece of baseball and automotive history in your garage. Check out the listing here for more information and photos.
