2015 GMC Yukons Tour The Yukon Territory

Back in August, a fleet of 2015 GMC Yukons drove through parts of the Yukon territory in Canada. Photos of the excursion are now available on General Motors’ own FastLane blog.

The train of full-size Yukon SUVs traveled along the meandering Klondike Highway, taking several detours to drive along dirt mining roads and climb King Solomon’s Dome: a 4,000 foot peak southeast of Dawson City. The vehicles then went up the Dempster Highway – a rugged road built largely through old dog sled trails – to the Arctic Circle.

Even the base 2015 GMC Yukon comes equipped with a potent EcoTec3 V8 with direct-injection and variable valve-timing. It also comes with a locking rear-differential and hill-start assist: equipment that will prove useful when, say, driving through the Yukon to the Arctic Circle, or tackling dirt mining roads.

In short, the 2015 GMC Yukon is a utility vehicle with photographic evidence that it can indeed live up to its name.
