2015 Corvette Z06 Visits The Colorado Rockies: Video

Chevrolet may have unveiled their all-new 2015 Corvette Z06 at the North American International Auto Show in January, but General Motors development engineers still had plenty of work left to do on the car before it was ready for customers. As a result, the car has been spotted out and about on a few different occasions this year, most recently in the Colorado Rockies by TFLCar.

The two test mules TFLCar stumbled across after being tipped off were both covered in camouflage. There was one convertible model and one coupe, both of which appeared to be without the aggressive aerodynamics seen on the Z07-equipped model on the NAIAS show floor in Detroit.

The reason these two were up in the mountains was most likely for high altitude testing on the 650 horsepower supercharged LT4 engine, but the winding roads in the area are probably not bad for chassis and tire testing as well. Check out the video below and let us know how you think these two prototypes look in the comments.

  1. Looks like you guys ran up on a regular C7 vert and possibly 2 ZO6’s doing testing of some sort. The clear tail lights (at least it looks that way in the picts) were definitely ZO6 versions. Maybe new wider body panels for the Z’s as opposed to the regular C7. Definite grill difference with the masked version sitting next to the convertible .
