The Second-Generation Camaro Z/28 Looks Deliciously 80s In This Japanese Music Video

The 80s could be described as a decade of weirdness. Maybe weird is too harsh, let’s say eccentric. The clothing styles were questionable, the music took a dramatic turn and in some cases, the cars were also a bit odd. If you lived through the 80s this somewhat strange 80’s themed Japanese music video featuring a stanced second-gen Camaro Z/28 and a Mitsubishi Starion may give you some flashbacks.

The video was filmed by filmmaker Matt Clark in Yokohama, Japan and posted to his Vimeo channel. It’s a bit devoid of subject matter, but is worth a watch for the high-quality cinematography and two iconic 80s sports cars alone. You might not mind the ‘I Know There’s Something Going On’ soundtrack either, which comes courtesy of Frida Lyngstad and Phil Collins.

Personally, the huge deep dish wheels and lowered look of the Camaro aren’t to our tastes, but we could see why some might like the look. The Starion also appears to have aged well, it’s just too bad the two cars aren’t featured more in the film.

  1. I’ve always loved the look of 1978-1981 Z28s. In my opinion a true “sticker and spoilers = performance” masterpiece.

I’d happily own one to this day…plus a LS or LT motor swap of course.
