With General Motors’ plans to introduce the Opel Cascada convertible in North America as a Buick within 18 months, it’s no surprise a few Cascadas have been spotted out testing in the United States. GM may be doing hot weather testing currently, as two Cascadas were recently spotted driving alongside a Verano in California’s Death Valley.
When the Cascada arrives in North America, it will remain almost completely unchanged from its European doppelganger. The powertrains have not been confirmed, but the car may be powered by GM’s 2.0-liter LTG engine used in the Malibu and Cadillac ATS rather than the 1.6-liter engine found in the European-spec car.
GM may drop more information on the U.S.-spec ragtop as its debut date nears and might even have it make its U.S. debut as early as next year. In the meantime, check out the spy shots of it on Left Lane News.
