Following numerous teasers and leaked pictures, General Motors has officially announced that it will reveal its hotly-anticipated Buick Envision crossover on August 28th in Chengdu, China.
The compact CUV will slot in between Buick’s two existing crossovers — the subcompact Encore and the full-size Enclave, and is expected to be the first vehicle to ride on GM’s new D2XX global vehicle architecture suited for compact vehicles. In addition, the Envision’s range-topping engine will be none other than GM’s turbocharged 2.0-liter I4 (LTG) making 256 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque.

No North American version? It looks really nice, I wanted one, damn.
Where did the interior photos go? Because that was a hot interior.
GM needs this in NA pronto…maybe make it even better for NA customers, but no delaying.
I heard somewhere that this was a China only thing. I sure wish the Hell they’d figure it out, as I think the Encore is a bit too small. I’d really like to see them sell it here in the US. For the market they want to chase I believe they need this size as well.
Wow, thanks for finally releasing this information. The suspense was just killing me about yet another small SUV to enter the market. Never fear for those who may want to own this fine piece of Buick machinery, I’ve heard from other sources that it will indeed eventually reach our fine pot-holed North American roads.
If they are not rushing to certify this vehicle for NA, they are insane. They would sell a ton of these here.
The exterior looks nice, but the interior looks fantastic! Interesting that the two best Buick interiors, LaCrosse and this, were both designed in China where Buick is a big seller. Their designers seem to get what Buick should be better than those in Detroit.
So far the pictures are great. Hope to get cooled and heated seats with memory and the voltec hybrid drive to make it a package you couldn’t refuse. Give me 35-50 miles of pure electric drive with the opportunity of long distance driving at 40-50 mpg and I will be the first in line to buy it.
