Spanish tuning company Irmscher has debuted their new Opel Astra GTC Turbo i400, a tuned up version of the already hot Astra GTC. You might have heard of Irmscher before, as they gained some recognition for stuffing a Corvette V8 into an Opel GT and overhauling Opel’s Mokka CUV.
Irmscher’s Turbo i400 has been lowered by about 1-inch compared to the standard Astra GTC and given a front lip spoiler, side skirts, rear hatch spoiler, rear diffuser and a modified front grille. The Astra has also received new 20-inch Irmscher Turbo Star wheels and a four-tailpipe exhaust system.
Inside, Irmscher makes minimal changes adding only Irmscher-branded floor mats, aluminium foot pedals and premium leather upholstery. Lastly, the 1.4-ltier turbocharged four cylinder engine has been tuned from 140 horsepower to 170 horsepower. Irmscher has yet to announce pricing, but says they will only build 100 Turbo i400s.
I’m really looking forward to my 2018 Buick GTC with the DCT. I just cannot decide whether to go with the 1.6T for the fuel economy and good enough power or the potent 2.0T. (Yeah, I know, wishful thinking.)
