As Holden prepares to end production in Australia, you can bet there’s going to be a slew of special editions. We told you about the 560-horsepower HSV GTS ute a few days ago, and it’s being reported that all are sold out even though it has yet to be officially announced.
Newscom.au is reporting that all 150 examples sold out within 24 hours and are already spoken for. For a vehicle that has yet to be formally announced, it is rumored that Holden is contemplating building a handful more (50-100) to keep customers happy.
As mentioned before, power will come from a 6.2L supercharged V8 that should be familiar to Americans as it’s the same as the Camaro ZL1‘s. With 560 horsepower, it is expected to accelerate to 0-62 mph in 4.5 seconds, making it the fastest pickup . . . er, ute ever.
Despite all the hubbub, both Holden and its HSV performance division refuse to acknowledge the HSV GTS Maloo even exists. “We don’t discuss future model plans,” says HSV boss Tim Jackson.
Does this mean we can expect a 560-horse Chevrolet SS in the future? Let’s hope so, but even the SS’s future may be in doubt after 2017 unless Chevrolet works some magic.
Bring it to the states and it will sell out also.
Not at 85k it won’t , this would have to be special order only, no US dealer would order this for floor stock.
If you really want one order it through Colorado, just take a big cheque book.
Maybe not at 85K and in this package, but give it to us in SS type trim and set it along side the SS in the dealership in the high 30K to mid 40K range and it will.
