For those that need to tow heavier things or just want that extra bit of grunt when they step on the pedal, General Motors offers their 420 horsepower 6.2-liter V8 in the Silverado and Sierra in place of the 355 horsepower 5.3-liter V8. If for some reason they want even more power, Hennessey Performance Engineering has completed work on their HPE550, HPE600 and HPE650 tuning packages for the two full-size trucks.
The Texas-based tuning shop released a video proving the prowess of the new supercharged HPE650 Sierra. The upgrade kit includes a 2.9-liter supercharger with high flow intercooler system, an HPE camshaft, high flow cylinder heads, HPE engine calibration and dyno tuning. The upgrades result in 545 horsepower and 539 lb-ft of torque directly to the wheels.
GM’s new full-size trucks and SUVs equipped with the 6.2-liter V8 are anything but slow and with Hennessey’s HPE650 kit, you’ll have one hell of a sleeper on your hands. Check out the video below to see it in action.
