General Motors has announced it will invest $174 million to construct a new stamping facility at its Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant, creating an additional 145 jobs. The stamping plant will produce components for the Alpha-based Cadillac CTS and ATS and also a yet-to-be-revealed future product, GM says.
“Lansing Grand River Assembly is known for the high quality of its work and the flexible manufacturing that has been a trademark since it opened,” said GM North America manufacturing boss Christine Sitek. “Today’s announcement demonstrates GM’s commitment to strengthening key plant capabilities related to quality and efficiency.”
GM says the new facility will become operational in 2016 and will save the company about $14 million a year in logistics costs related to material shipping and handling. The expansion is just one of many significant investments the automaker has made at its Grand River plant in recent years. In 2010 it sunk $190 million into the plant for the addition of the Cadillac ATS to its production line and another $88 million in 2011 to build the 2014 CTS.

Rumor has it LTS Cadillac is going to produced at DHAM.
This is Camaro for sure.
This is for sure the Camaro press molds and I would not be surprised if they also do a SS replacement here once Holden drops the line. The timing matches up for the plant being able to do it and the Holden stopping production.
What about the Oshawa Ontario plant? Is there any future plans for that plant? I know that they have a stamping facility and is looking for new product. The Holden SS would be a perfect car for this plant.
