Earlier today we reported that, along with OnStar 4G LTE wifi, the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban SUVs will be receiving a hands-free liftgate as a rolling update. But the photo also revealed an Easter egg. Because the photo reveals the badges of a 2015 Tahoe Z71.
So far, there have been no official announcements for a Tahoe Z71, or a Suburban Z71 for that matter.
Going off what we’ve seen with the Chevrolet Silverado, a 2015 Tahoe Z51 and/or 2015 Suburban Z71 will probably feature Rancho shocks, granting better off-road performance than the base suspension. There’s also a hill descent control feature, a locking rear differential, underbody cladding, all-terrain tires, and recovery tow hooks. We’ll wait in the wing for more.

Glad I wasn’t seeing things in your previous article. Should be interesting if they decide to differentiate the front appearance like they do on the Silverado. The Tahoe does carry the same grill across all trims aside from chrome on LTZ. Time will tell.
OOPS!! how’d those badges get there? Nice find and I hope it’s for real, that a Z71 really is on the way. 🙂
They are called easter eggs and GM has hidden things in plain sight before.
Watch Detroit for more info would be my guess or even the Texas State Fair if they do it sooner.
How do you add profit to a vehicle like this? Add more things to it that bolt on.
Another half-assed gm “off-roader” to part people with even more money? We shall see what new GM does..
No one takes these pigs off road anyway. Main line soccer moms use these for 2 kids and a bag of chips. They like getting 15mpg for reasons beyond me.
You and Mike are wrong, these are great for company vehicles or vehicles in the oil patch or mines to transport crew. They make these packages for a reason. Don’t be foolish or arrogant.
…they confirmed a Z71 with unique facia and side steps – basically a oackage similar to the last for the SUV’s – to a group if us last week.
