Cadillac Unveils 2015 Escalade Platinum Collection

Cadillac today announced the new range-topping Platinum Collection 2015 Escalade, a more upscale trim level of the full-size luxury SUV which offers new premium interior materials, upgraded technologies and other model exclusive aesthetic enhancements.

The Escalade Platinum Collection will join the rest of the Escalade lineup in the fourth quarter of this year. The majority of the enhancements have happened on the inside, with the first- and second-row seating now wrapped in Nappa semi-aniline leather, while the dashboard, upper door panels and center console have been clad in hand-stitched and hand-wrapped leather. It also features a sueded microfiber headliner and wood accents different from those offered on the standard Escalade.

Heated and cooled 18-way power front seats and a massaging driver’s seat are standard on Platinum Collection Escalades, as is a pair of seven-inch LCD screens embedded in the head rests of the two front seats. An overhead 9-inch screen is also present, while a new cooled center console compartment can help keep occupant’s beverages cold.

The Escalade Platinum will be distinguished from standard models by its unique 22-inch wheels, ‘Platinum’ exterior badging and new mesh-grille design. As with all future 2015 Escalade models, it will also wear Cadillac’s new wreathless crest.

The updates aren’t limited to just interior and cosmetic updates. Upon announcing the Platinum Collection, Cadillac officially acknowledged the Escalade will receive GM’s new eight-speed automatic transmission as standard. Four wheel drive models will also come equipped with a new two-speed transfer case.

The top-of-the-range 2015 Escalade Platinum will be available at the end of year with an asking price of $90,270, including a $995 fee.

  2. Totally, totally a smart move. I just wish/can’t wait for the “new” SRX (please, no FWD-based platform), with a Platinum package. The Escalade is just too big for us, but I would LOVE to ditch our Benz for a Cadillac.

  3. THE SUV least likely to ever go off road. For $90k I will take two. With spinners. On second thought, $90k buys some serious machinery from manufacturers such as Mercedes, Porsche, or BMW, companies which in terms of engineering and design crap all over GM.
