Cadillac is sponsoring a new golf series at the Emirates Golf Club’s Faldo course in the United Arab Emirates. Called the Cadillac Golf Cup League (CGCL), it is a series of 15 weekly competitions that will be held every Monday from August 25 through December 8.
The winner of each weekly CGCL competition will drive home in a new Cadillac, and prizes will be provided for runners-up as well. The top 40 players will eventually be invited to play in the Cadillac Golf Cup Finale on December 15. The golfer with the best score will be the champion of the Cadillac Golf Cup, entitling him or her to qualify for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship Pro-Am, of which Cadillac is the official car sponsor.
“We very much look forward to this collaboration,” said Felix Weller, Director of Cadillac Sales & Marketing, GM Middle East. “Since becoming the title sponsor of this competition, Cadillac has not only been committed to elevating its stature, but also to offering the unique experience of Cadillac to the UAE golf community. With our corporate sponsor, Liberty Automobiles Company L.L.C., each weekly winner from the tournament will be offered a Cadillac test-drive experience.”
Twenty golfers participated in the CGCL’s first round of competition on August 25. The General Manager of Finance for Gulf Agency Company (Dubai) L.L.C., Pontus Fredriksson, was the winner, so he drove home in a Cadillac XTS.
Organizer and participant Fredrik Schauman adds, “We welcome the addition of Cadillac into our lifestyle. We know the league is now on a stronger foundation than ever before. The support of Cadillac has been nothing short of incredible throughout the entire process. Together, we can take the league to the next level.”
Golfers with an official Emirates Golf Federation handicap of 20 or below are welcome to join the CGCL. They can sign up by visiting http://cadillacgolf.ae/index.php/join/.
