General Motors has released information surrounding the updates and changes to the 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The adjustments to Big Red’s full-size pickup are nearly identical to those seen on the 2015 Silverado 1500.
To start, the Stealth Gray Metallic and Cobalt Blue Metallic exterior colors are replaced with Stone Blue Metallic and Emerald Green Metallic, with the latter color previously only available as a promotional hue. The list of new features is long: new Premium Mirrors, spray-on bed liner with the GMC logo, a new Off-Road graphic in the DIC for all Z71 and All Terrain models, and OnStar 4G LTE with Wi-Fi, whose arrival delivers a larger exterior antenna molded in black.
In addition, the 2015 Sierra features several changes over the 2014 model, including the availability of the 8-inch IntelliLink infotainment system on SLE Regular Cab models, the inclusion of the Rear View Camera with the Sierra Convenience Package, the removal of HD radio from all Sierra radios, and the availability of Chrome Tow Hooks as a factory-installed option. Lastly, the Hill Start Assist hold time increases from 1.5 to 3 seconds, the USB port is placed in the glovebox for trucks equipped with the bench seat, and the 4.3-liter V6 LV3 and 5.3-liter V8 L83 engines gain E85 capability with the FHS RPO code. Oh, and for those wondering about the 8-speed transmission: it’s included in the 2015 Sierra, but for whatever reason is not featured on the change sheet. That’s rather peculiar, as is the omission of the Carbon edition — the equivalent to the Silverado Rally edition, along with the Magnetic Ride Control destined for the 2015 Sierra Denali.
Check out the RPO-level changes for yourself:

Comments
I suspected this but decided to look this up for certain: It appears that the GMC Stone Blue Metallic and Chevrolet Deep Ocean Blue Metallic are the same color, both G1K and reference touch-up paint WA-409Y.
Likewise Chevrolet Rainforest Green and GMC Emerald Green matches codes as does Chevrolet Silver Ice and GMC Quicksilver metallics, GMC calls their black Onyx Black, Chevrolet Victory Red and GMC Fire Red, Chevrolet Brownstone and GMC Bronze Allow metallics, Chevrolet Tungsten and GMC Iridium metallics and Chevrolet Deep Ruby Metallic matches the GMC Sonoma Red Metallic.
It’s a shame that the SEO paints are not more commonly available. That Dark Toreador Red would be nice, especially if it were a metallic.
I think the 8 speed is not mentioned because it did say that the 6.2 L won’t be available at start of 2015 or Q4
If that were the case, then the 8-speeds would be listed as late availability as well.
But they don’t have to though I don’t think until further notice
Further notice? Huh?
The build sheets outline anything and everything going into a new model year. There have been no exceptions to this. Even interim model year changes get put into these.
As my 2014 Sierra is being serviced for the third time since delivery on July 14, I was given a 2015 and noticed the bed light switch has an illuminated indicator to signal it is in the on position. My 2014 does not have the indicator and when I asked about it at the dealership I was told none had it.
Why was the HD feature on the radio discontinued?
The HD signal is not as strong as regular FM the range is a lot less. You get away from the transmitter and it comes and goes, I’m sure GM got a lot of complaints.
#1-I’ve havd several Sierra’s and I presently have a 2014 SLT Sierra, now w 8k. It vibrates between 70-80, like many do. Dealer has gone through it serveral times, changed/balanced tires, checked prop shaft, etc…. has improve but still virbrates I don’t understand I thought GM could figure it out!
#2-why is the light stwich for the bed located inside the truck and not on the side wall of the bed? They might as well located it in the engine compartment, makes no sense.
#3-why is the power door lock switch located between other buttons rather than at the left of all switches?
I know there is no good reason for these mistakes but I still like the truck. Somtimes they things right in previous models but decide to change things up in the new models for change, not for better.
we need a recall for the vibration problem sle 2014 sierra v6 double cab z71 is gm listening
Coming from a gm family I have owned many gm vehicles, my favorite being a 2009 silverado, I how ever traded that in for a new 2015 sierra. Well after a few months of driving this truck everyday I found out that the turning radius of the 2014/15 has been drastically been reduced. Parking or turning this vehicle around is the worst experience of my life, when turning I will go to full lock where as my silverado had at least 2 more full turns of the steering wheel. I hate all the sensors that the truck has, and the inability to turn off stabilitrak permanently, or not even being able to turn it off some times. And that’s just the mechanics that I don’t like, when it comes to parts everything is way to expensive or some how isn’t even able to be found or purchased. after this I will never get another new vehicle from gmc
I have a 2014 sierra that I love. I have had 6 different sierra ranging from 85 to 14. This one is by far the best of them all. You can turn the stability control off by holding down the traction control button for about 10 seconds. It will give a message on the info screen that stabilitrak is off.
I have a GMC Sierra Denali 1500 4wd Z71 with the 6.2. It is simply an amazing truck. Incredible power, great fuel economy, brilliant design and ergonomics. The stereo function is outstanding. Superb sound. Zero complaints, very pleased in every way. 36k miles so far.
I am a gadget guy, so my only complaints are that I would like to see a built in dash cam function, more clever places to mount a weapon,
