2015 Corvette Family Will Introduce Industry-First “Valet Mode” Camera System

We’ve all heard at least one story about valets mistreating vehicles. Now, that’s not to say all valets, or even most valets, are slimy boogers who can’t simply park a car and leave it be. We shouldn’t let a few bad boogers ruin the whole nostril (or something like that). But one cannot tell who’s who, and to add some piece of mind, Chevrolet has announced an industry-exclusive Valet Mode for the 2015 Corvette family.

The new feature uses a four-digit code that, when activated, locks storage compartments, disables the radio and infotainment, and uses the Performance Data Recorder camera to monitor where the 2015 Corvette has gone while its owner is away. Hopefully just to a spacious parking spot. Porsche drivers, and others, will have to guess.

Valet Mode is turned on through the settings menu and activated by entering a unique four-digit code. To see a bit more on how the 2015 Corvette’s Valet Mode works, see the video below.

  1. Long overdue! Now only if it could limit it to four cylinders and 130 HP!
