2015 Chevrolet Impala Earns Highest Possible 5-Star Safety Rating From NHTSA

Edmunds has announced the 2015 Chevrolet Impala full-size sedan received a five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the highest safety rating handed down by the government-funded safety watchdog.

The Impala earned a five star safety rating in the front and side crash tests and four stars in the rollover crash test. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 2014 Impala a “good” rating during their safety tests, but has yet to rate the 2015 model year Impala.

The Impala has multiple standard safety features including 10 airbags, electronic stability control, traction control and antilock brakes. Other optional safety devices include a rearview camera, crash-imminent braking and lane-departure warning.

Possibly the Impala’s closest competitor in the full-size sedan segment, the 2015 Ford Taurus, also received a five-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA.
