Back before SUVs became the rage, you’d see vehicles like this GMC Jimmy and Chevrolet Blazer all over America. Basically a short-wheelbase pickup but with an enclosed full passenger compartment (with removable top), they were popular with suburban folks and off-roaders alike. It’s hard to find them in excellent condition due to abuse, but every once in awhile one pops up that catches our attention, like this 50,000-mile 1988 Jimmy SLE 4×4 on eBay.
Seller claims this Nebraska-native Jimmy was purchased from the original owner who kept things flawless in a climate-controlled garage. It was also kept from overly sunny or inclement weather, thus preserving the paint as well − no gravel, mud, or grass either! The factory yellow chalk markings are sill clear and legible on the frame rails too.
Of course, back in 1988, horsepower wasn’t king despite plenty of 14-second Corvettes and Camaros. In the case of the Jimmy, the throttle body fuel-injected 350 produced 190 horsepower behind its four-speed automatic. And since it’s equipped with the SLE option package, you get a lot of amenities like power everything, cruise control, AM/FM/cassette, third rear seat, and a host of other options.
This Jimmy failed to meet its reserve on eBay, reaching only $15,100, but the “Buy It Now” price of $27,275.49 seems a bit rich for our tastes.

Nice find. Thanks for sharing.
The SPID says that it’s an L05 which was a throttle body injected 350 producing 190 HP.
I’ve ridden in this generation of Jimmy / Blazer and their interiors were big enough to play football. But the noise was incredible because the roof thing was just Fiberglas and I don’t think it had a headliner.
Thanks – I’ll adjust the specs.
