“Wood” You Be Interested In This Classic Buick Wagon?: eBay Find

Station wagons have come into their own, so when we saw this nicely weathered 1953 Buick Super Estate woody on eBay we just had to share it. Located in Bedford Hills, NY, the seller calls this Buick a “restoration candidate.” While a restoration would certainly turn this car into an award winner, we can’t help but like its current look: faded paint, warped wood, and all.

Reportedly one of 1,830 Super Estate wagons produced in 1953, this Buick can hit the six-figure zone when properly restored, according to Hagerty and the NADA. As it sits, the seller is asking $26,500 for a car in need of some work to the floor (and who knows what issues are hiding?), as well as a new exhaust manifold and a set of shocks. He or she is also considering offers for the big wagon.

All we can do is see potential in this Buick. With a little work this could be an awesome unrestored classic with “patina.” Or if you’re really crazed, you can dump the 170-horsepower 322-cubic-inch engine that currently sits under the hood and toss a modern LS3 in this old-school wagon instead. Drop the suspension a little and keep the faded paint, and you’ll have an amazing restomod that’s sure to blow the minds of wagon-loving car enthusiasts everywhere.
