This 1962 Catalina May Be The Perfect Summer Droptop

Summer is convertible season, and if you’re in need of a red ragtop to appreciate the warm summer months, perhaps this classic 1962 Pontiac Catalina convertible that’s being offered at Mecum’s Harrisburg, Pa. auction should do the trick.

Equipped with Pontiac’s famous 389 cubic-inch with Tri-Power, this Catalina has the desirable Borg Warner T10 4-speed manual transmission that pushes 318 horsepower through a Positraction rear end. While not the high-horse 425A motor, it still is a Tri-Power 4-speed Poncho.

Having undergone an complete restoration, it should come as no surprise that this gorgeous red-on-red convertible’s seller claims the car has won a number of awards, although (s)he doesn’t claim whether they’re from a national event or the local show’n shine. How much do you think this Catalina convertible will go for when it finally crosses the block at the July 24-27 auction?
