Believe it or not, what you’re looking at up there is a 1998 C5 Corvette. No really, it’s in there somewhere. It’s just hidden under all the all the custom body work, which was done by Warren Scaife to promote his custom metal fabrication company, XL Stainless.
Whether the new bodywork is to your tastes or not, there is some appreciation to be had for the work involved in this project. All the new body panels are aluminium and were formed by hand, and from the pictures the work looks well done. The interior has gotten a similar overhaul, with white leather seats and black and white contrasting stitching throughout.
That retro-styled body might not scream performance, but Scaife decided to add a little extra might to the stock LS1 V8 anyways. The engine has been fitted with a centrifugal supercharger system to help produce a potent 665 horsepower, which is more than enough to have a little a fun.
This isn’t the first custom bodied Corvette we’ve seen, but it just might be the craziest. Check out more photos at LSXTV and let us know what you think of this creation in the comments.

Nope, and it doesn’t get any better from the rear; Mitsu Eclipse taillights. Ugg.
Looks like someone really wanted a Morgan Aero…
