Purple 1966 Cadillac Is A Blast From The Past: eBay Find

The ostentatiousness of the 1960s is alive and well in this 1966 Cadillac DeVille convertible currently for sale on eBay. With a claimed 65,000 original miles on its odometer, this big, purple convertible is filled to the brim with the best luxury features of the era.

Power windows and locks, plus a power top, make it easy to get fresh air into this behemoth’s cabin. Meanwhile, power steering and brakes, as well as a built-in air conditioner, ensure that the driver of this beast never breaks a sweat while cruising around town.

The seller notes that the car has been restored, but doesn’t say when the work occurred. Nonetheless, photos of the undercarriage show a clean, rust-free frame. With an opening bid of $99,500 on this “no reserve” auction, we think the seller will have a hard time finding a buyer for this well-optioned 1966 DeVille convertible.

  1. Yeah he’s on crack! 99 grand for a 66 Coupe Deville?! Not ever mayne. Maybe a nice $35-40,000. And even then it has to be real special, like perfect color combo and options. This is not that car (although it is nice) I’ve been pricing and watching the market on these for years and they can be he had in the $8000-high teens all day in this condition.

1965-1968 Cadillacs may be considered the last of the universally “real” Caddys, but unless it’s a Eldorado, they don’t seem to be appreciated by the high dollar collectors like the older more flamboyant models.

    1. Hmmm, followed the link and looked at the pics…no way in hell is this a 90 grand car. It’s just a low mileage survivor with new paint and a ok interior. The whole underside of the car was rattle canned black, and the engine bay has been detailed (and possibly the engine block and valve covers repainted?)

All in all it’s a really nice driver, nothing more…because of the exceptional paint and apparently new chrome, 15-20 grand is all I’d give for it. Oh and put some decent wires on the thing! On that era Caddy, kelsey Hayes with 2″ white walls or go home!

This guy has a “potential 100 grand” 1966 Eldo: http://www.mcsmk8.com/66-ELDO2/66-ELDO.HTM

and I’m pretty sure he didn’t sell it for that much.

  2. wrong seats. actually the seats look like something out of the seventies and do not belong. why guys do this to classic cars is just ignorant. first clue the car is old enough the head rests do not belong. I am ok with the 80s spoke mags but dont replace better seats with newer ones that do not suit the car.
