One Chevrolet dealership is going the extra mile to help the families of America’s fallen soldiers. Jim Glover Chevrolet in Tulsa is converting several Chevrolet Silverado models into “Patriot Edition” trucks. The 2015 Patriot Edition is based on the Silverado 2500 HD and includes “folded-flag bumper cutouts, flag stitching on the front seat upholstery and cut-out badging, among other touches.”
For each Patriot Edition sold, Jim Glover Chevrolet donates money to the Folds of Honor Foundation. The Jim Glover Chevrolet site states that $500 goes to the charity that provides scholarships to the children and spouses of fallen American soldiers; however, the dealership told Edmunds.com that $600 will be donated for every Patriot Edition Silverado sold.
Jim Glover Chevrolet vice president Jared Glover told Edmunds.com that “Last year [the dealership] donated $70,000 to the organization and sold about two Patriot Editions a month.” This summer the dealership is selling an average of 10-12 Patriot Edition trucks each month.
The dealership isn’t stopping at simply offering a unique special edition Silverado as a means to donate to a great organization. In fact, Jim Glover Chevrolet also donated $100 for every new and used car sold in June. In all, the dealership has been able to raise $61,000 for Folds of Honor.
