Opel Wins Public Bid For School Bus Account in Romania

Opel in Romania came out victorious in a public bid to provide 600 Movano Trabus vehicles to transport schoolchildren. This is the largest fleet of school buses Opel has ever delivered, and is also significant due to the recent organization of Opel’s light commercial vehicle business.

In total, 600 buses will provide safe transport for 9,600 children, making it possible for them to attend school in over 100 small cities and villages. The first 100 vehicles were presented during a press event in downtown Bucharest hosted by the government, with the presentation of the remaining 500 buses scheduled for a later date.

The Movano Trabus vehicles were converted by a local Romanian supplier to carry sixteen passengers. A 2.3-liter CDTI engine powers the L3H2 3890 body, and all 600 vehicles are equipped with air conditioning. They have been homologated according to European safety regulations, have a five-year warranty, and have been speed-limited to 90 km/h (56 mph).
