General Motors’ Australian subsidiary Holden recorded 12,332 sales in the month of June 2014. The results represent the brand’s best sales in three years and account for a market share of 10.4 percent.
According to Holden Executive Director of Sales and Marketing, Philip Brook, the Commodore was responsible for well over 3,000 sales, while the Cruze Z-Series and SRi Z-Series gained traction and led the Cruze range to 2,146 sales, up nearly 60 percent over May. In addition, the Malibu, Captiva 5, Trax, and Colorado truck all recorded record sales, with the Captiva 5 recording its best ever June.
“Our recently announced five-year warranty and three years free servicing offer on each new Holden vehicle sold throughout July is a perfect example of our commitment to our customers and their satisfaction”, added Brook.
June 2014 also marked the tenth consecutive month that Holden outperformed the market, posting 10.1 percent growth year-over-year compared to the first six months of 2013.
“Despite the intense competition and fragmented nature of the Australian market, we are dedicated to building on Holden’s strong results in the first half of this year. The remainder of 2014 will be very challenging but we’ll keep offering our customers some of the best deals on the best vehicles in the market.
