Facelifted Chevrolet Captiva SUV Spied Undergoing Testing

General Motors will put a small extension on the life of the ageing Chevrolet Captiva SUV by introducing a new, face lifted model for the 2015 model year. Inautonews recently caught the refreshed crossover undergoing testing with heavy camouflage draped over the front fasica, hood and front quarter panels.

Updates on the new Captiva will most likely be limited to the areas where there is camouflage on the prototype. This means it will most likely receive a new grille and front fascia which is more akin to current Chevys and possibly a redesigned hood. The interior may also receive small updates and changes, while no new engine or transmission options are currently known.

The Captiva has been on sale in different parts of Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East since 2006. Throughout its model lifecycle, the SUV has been updated many times with new infotainment technologies, a rear-view camera, revised exterior and interior styling and updated engine options.

  1. Two questions: Is this thing still available here in the US new for fleet sales only? And if it is would it be getting a new nose too?

    1. The Captiva 7 (as pictured above) is not the same as the Fleet-Only Captiva 5 in The U.S. The 7 is not available here. As for the refresh on the Fleet-Only 5, I highly doubt it, but time will tell.

  2. no matter which way you look at it, Captiva looks like 2006. it’s tired and needs a new style change fast.

  3. Why fleet only sales? My GM dealer sells Captivas to anyone. And they are more visible on the roads than the Equinox, which I do owe.

    1. Your US Chevy dealer will sell former rental fleet Captivas to anyone, but they are not available as new in the US.
