eBay Find: Travel Back In Time With This 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham

The 1950s were arguably the most stylish for Cadillac. The “Standard of the World” aimed to embody the American spirit with extravagantly styled vehicles paired with Atomic-Age technology. Driving a Cadillac conveyed status within society, and nothing told the world you “made it” more than driving a Cadillac like this Eldorado Brougham listed on eBay.

This 1957 Eldorado Brougham has an extremely low 35,392 miles on its completely original body. The listing states that the vehicle retains all of the original parts – engine, transmission, rear end, etc. – with matching numbers. It even has the original air suspension, which is unusual considering the maintenance issues back in the day; many owners retrofitted them with springs. This car has obviously been cared for, but obtaining a 57-year-old car in this state will cost a fair bit of money: $119,000 to be exact.

While some may think that’s a lot of money for an old Cadillac, but back in its heyday the Eldorado Brougham was the pinnacle of American luxury, listing for as much as a Rolls-Royce. The lucky person who ends up with this Caddy certainly will have “made it” in the collector hobby.

  1. Finding the car is not the hard part but finding the parts to restore it is something else.

Not too long ago I found one of this in a junk yard but it needed more work than it was worth. It was really sad to see as it was once a great car.

  2. There were only about 800 of these made total. They are a rare find.
